Bridge caves in, 1 killed, 2 injured in Odisha

Kendrapara (Odisha), Aug 24 (PTI) A daily wage earnerwas killed and two other labourers were seriously injured as awooden bridge caved in at Batighar village in Mahakalpadapolice station area in Odisha’s Kendrapara district. The temporary bridge caved in when aconcrete-mixer-machine carrying the labourers was passing overit on Monday night, a police officer aid. The ill-maintained bridge built over Khola rivuletcollapsed as it failed to withstand the load of the machine,the officer said. Tapas Geru (32) died as he was trapped inside themachine which fell into the river water. Two other labourersare undergoing treatment at headquarters hospital and arestated to be out of danger, the officer said. PTI COR SKN CRCR
