BREAKING | UP Government’s chartered plane crashes in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar

Mumbai: A chartered plane belonging to the Uttar Pradesh government of make AIR C90 has crashed in an open area in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar.

Five persons, including two pilots, two aircraft maintenance engineers and one pedestrian, have died, as per the DGCA.

Fire brigade teams are on the spot. As per officials, a pedestrian has died in the aircraft crash.

The crash has taken place near the Jagruti building in Ghatkopar at 1:52 PM at a place where construction was going on. According to Mumbai Police, investigations are underway.

“The chartered plane which crashed does not belong to UP govt. The state govt had sold it to Mumbai’s UY Aviation. The deal was done after the plane had met with an accident in Allahabad,” Principal Secretary Information Avnish Awasthi said.

The plane used to belong to the UP government till 2014. It was sold to UY Aviation
