US plane manufacturer Boeing has recommended grounding all of the 777-model aircraft which have the same type of engine that suffered an engine failure and shed debris over Denver on Saturday.
“I have just had confirmation that all the 777s equipped with this engine have been grounded,” a spokeswoman for the giant US planemaker said in a text message to AFP on Monday.
In a statement on Sunday, the company had recommended that all the aircraft concerned should be grounded as US regulators investigated a United Airlines flight that was forced to return to Denver airport after one of its engines caught fire and broke up.

A video that had gone viral on Sunday, displayed that a major tragedy was averted in the United States of America (USA) after a Boeing 777-200 flight, with 231 passengers and 10 crew members on board, of the United Airlines caught fire mid-air while landing.
