Kolkata: Bengali actor Pallavi Dey was found hanging in her South Kolkata apartment on Sunday morning. Based on the initial investigation, police suspect a case of suicide.
Pallavi Dey, a popular face in the Bengali Television was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment in Garfa. She was immediately moved to the MR Bangur Hospital, where she was declared dead.
According to reports, the police is yet to recover any suicide note from the rented apartment. The actress was sharing the apartment with a friend named Shagnik Chakraborty, who was the first one to discover the incident and later informed the police.
The police in a statement confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem and a case of unnatural death has been registered. The police further added that they suspect it to be a case of suicide, however, a final conclusion will be made after the post-mortem details.
The news of her sudden demise has left the family members and fans of the actress in shock and disbelief. Co-star Anamitra Batbyal in an interview said that she is in “utter shock” with the news of her sudden death.
