Bastar collector pulled-up for wearing sunglasses

Date:

Bastar: Amit Katariya collector Bastar district has been pulled up for receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi while wearing sun glasses. The Chhattisgarh government has issued a warning to Katariya.

The state government has warned the Collector for not following the protocol and not showing “integrity and devotion” towards duty. “The act (wearing sunglasses) is in violation of the Section 3 (1) of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968,” the notice reads.

The notice warned the Collector against such acts in the future. According to local media reports, Modi shook hand with the Collector who was wearing a blue shirt and branded sunglasses and asked, “Mr dabangg Collector, how are you?”

Reports said Modi’s remark has sparked off a debate on the dress code of IAS officers on VVIP duty.

Reacting to the reports Chief Minister Raman Singh said that no action will be taken against him. “Only a notice has been issued to the officer as it is not a protocol. It was done only to tell him that it was against the protocol. No further action will be initiated.
