Assembly Elections Results: Counting of Votes For Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh To Be Held Tomorrow

The counting of votes for the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections will be held on Thursday. It will start at 8 AM.

The polls for Gujarat were held in two phases on December 1 and 5 across 33 districts of the BJP-ruled state. Meanwhile, the voting process to elect candidates on 68 assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh was held on November 12.

  • The voter turnout in Gujarat was about 64.65 per cent in both phases. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh’s voter turnout was over 74 per cent.
  • The fate of 412 candidates contesting for the 68 assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh will be decided on Thursday. The majority mark is 35 in a 68-member strong assembly.
  • Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful counting. There will be 37 counting centres in Gujarat covering 182 Assembly seats.

  • The exit polls have predicted a big majority for the BJP in Gujarat.
  • The ruling party is expected to win in the range of 117-151 seats, while the Congress was predicted to bag between 16 to 51 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party was projected to bag anything between two and 13 seats. The majority mark in Gujarat is 92.
