A 16 year old was allegedly held hostage and gang-raped by six men for seven days in the Prakasham district of Andhra Pradesh. Out of the seven accused, three are minors.
The girl was from the neighbouring district of Guntur, and had come to Ongole town on Sunday, June 16, to meet a friend with whom she had developed a friendship in Guntur. On reaching the town, she enquired about him at a bus station, where she was offered help by a young man working at a mobile phone store. He then took her to a room in the town where he locked her up and raped her. Later, he brought in five more men and all of them gang raped her for six days.
On Saturday, June 22, the victim managed to escape from the room she was held in and managed to reach a bus station. The police found her there and took her to the police station, where she revealed what had happened to her. The Police admitted the victim to the RIMS Hospital in Ongole, and immediately sent out a search party for the accused.

Of the six accused, four were caught on Saturday and the remaining were caught on Sunday. The police have booked them under POCSO(The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
