India vs England 1st ODI: Bumrah, Shami Shines As India Crush England By 10 Wickets

London: India registered a swift 10-wicket victory against England in the first ODI game at the Oval on Tuesday.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Indian bowling attack went through the entire batting order of England, bundling the innings at just 110 runs in 25 overs. This is the lowest ODI total of England against India.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah took six wickets haul by giving just 19 runs in his spell. Mohd Shami secured three crucial wickets in his spell. The conditions in Oval were apt for India when they came out to bowl, and the bowlers picked up on that and blew the batting line-up away.

Mohammed Shami became the fastest Indian bowler to scalp 150 international wickets in ODI. He took a total of 80 matches to reach his 150 wickets and surpassed the record of former Indian pacer Ajit Agarkar, who took 97 matches.

Rohit and Dhawan pair managed to chase down the low target in 18 overs with Sharma playing a sublime innings of 76 runs and Dhawan adding 31 runs during the chase.

With this win, India will move ahead in the tour with a 1-0 lead on England, while the English side has lot to cover in the next game. a sublime inning.
