Man Wearing ‘Stop Bombing Palestine’ Shirt Disrupts IND vs AUS World Cup Final

Ahmedabad: The World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium faced a brief disruption on Sunday, November 19, when a pitch intruder, donning a mask with a message, briefly interrupted the Indian innings in the 14th over of the contest.

The man who invaded the pitch, clad in a white t-shirt and red trousers, managed to reach Virat Kohli, who was in the middle, and even placed his arm over him during the steady partnership with KL Rahul.

The man, ran through the field wearing a shirt that said, ‘Stop Bombing Palestine’, in reference to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

However, the security personnel at the Narendra Modi Stadium quickly arrested the pitch invader, removing him from the field. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul appeared displeased by the interruption in play as they were constructing a partnership following the dismissals of captain Rohit Sharma (47) and KL Shreyas Iyer (4) in rapid succession.

Social media influencer Daniel Jarvis, notorious for his security-threatening antics, had earlier invaded the field during an India Test match in England, donning an Indian jersey.

Due to his actions, the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned Jarvo from attending any further matches in the World Cup 2023. Security officials at the MA Chidambaram Stadium handed Jarvo over to the police, resulting in the cancellation of his visa.

Setting aside the pitch invasion incidents, the World Cup 2023 final showcased a spectacular performance as both India and Australia lived up to expectations. Australia won the toss and chose to field.
