FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

Upon conducting a reverse search, the NM team found the same image on a website — Siena International Photo Awards an annual photography competition, organised by the non-profit association Art Photo Travel. As per the information available on its website, the photo earned the accolade of “Remarkable Artwork” in the 2020 Siena International Photo Awards, specifically in the category of “Documentary & Photojournalism.” The image, titled “Mother,” is described as being captured in Homs, Syria.

The image was also highlighted in multiple reports covering the 2020 Siena International Photo Awards winners.

Thus, we can conclusively say that an old image from Syria is erroneously linked to the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
