A video showing a cameraperson following a director’s instructions while recording a scene widely is widely shared on social media. Many users claim the video shows Palestinians faking injuries in the aftermath of Israeli bombings.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.

Running the video keyframes through Reverse Image Search, the NM team identified the similar image on an Instagram post by Lebanese actor Rami Jardali. The image has been used as a thumbnail for one of the actor’s reels, shared on October 29, with a caption: ‘Backstage Reality.’

The same account has also shared a short film, titled ‘The Reality,’ showcasing scenes identical to those seen in the viral video.

The caption on the post tags the director of the short film, Mahmoud Ramzi, who has also uploaded the complete short film on his own account. ‘The Reality’ was shared on October 28. Ramzi has also posted a video in collaboration with Canadian content creator Amira Mehailia, debunking the viral claims.

Thus, we can conclusively say that visuals from behind the scenes of a Lebanese short film are falsely shared as Palestinians faking injuries.
