India Wins Historic Gold In Equestrian Team Dressage At Asian Games; Here Is The Tally

India is having a stellar performance at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. On Tuesday, the Indian equestrian team won gold in the mixed dressage event, ending a 41-year wait for a gold medal. Team featuring Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul Chheda, Divyakriti Singh and Sudipti Hajela bagged the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023. This was India’s 14th medal at the games, putting them behind Hong Kong in the medal tally.

India has a strong contingent of 655 athletes participating in the 19th Asian Games, competing across 39 events. Silver and Bronze medals in sailing

India got off to a great start on Tuesday as Neha Thakur won a silver medal in the girl’s dinghy event in sailing, securing India’s first medal of the day. Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated Neha on her win. Later, Eabad Ali added to India’s medal tally by winning a bronze medal in the Men’s Windsurfer RS:X event, displaying his impressive windsurfing skills.

 India bag gold medal in 10-metre Air Rifle Team event

According to ANI, Rudranksh Patil, Aishwary Tomar, and Divyansh Panwar won gold in the 10-meter Air Rifle Team event. Apart from that, Ramita Jindal won two medals in the 10m air rifle competition at the current Asian Games.

Bronze medal in Men’s Quadruple sculls events

India’s quartet of Jaswinder Singh, Bheem Singh, Punit Kumar and Ashish won a bronze medal in the Men’s Four discipline in rowing at the 19th Asian Games on Monday. They finished with a time of 6:10.81, which was 5.85 seconds slower than the gold medallists from Uzbekistan. The host nation, China, secured the silver medal.

In another event, India’s Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh won the silver medal in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls at the 19th Asian Games. Prime Minister Modi congratulated the duo on their win. “Heartiest congratulations to our incredible duo of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh for securing the Silver medal in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls event. They have made the entire nation proud with their accomplishment”, he wrote in a tweet.

Gold to Women’s cricket team

During their inaugural appearance at the Asian Games, the Indian women’s cricket team clinched a gold medal by defeating Sri Lanka by 19 runs in a hard-fought, low-scoring final on a challenging pitch.

So far, India has won 14 medals at the Asian Games 2023, three gold, four silver and seven bronze.

Currently, China is leading the overall Asian Games 2023 medals tally with 47 gold, followed by the Republic of Korea (13), Japan (7) and Uzbekistan (5). India is in 6th position 3 gold and overall 14 medals.
