New Delhi: India secured a dominant victory over Australia in the three-match ODI series, claiming a 2-0 lead after a convincing 99-run win in the second match at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on a memorable Sunday.
Australia’s innings came to an end at 217 runs, within just 28.2 overs. Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin showcased their prowess, each claiming three wickets. Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna secured two wickets, and Mohammed Shami took one wicket.
In a thrilling second ODI of the three-match series against Australia, India posted a formidable total of 399/5 in 50 overs, setting a new high against the Australian team in a 50-over match at Mohali on Sunday.
This remarkable achievement was fueled by centuries from Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, with a dazzling display of late fireworks in the death overs courtesy of Suryakumar Yadav.
Iyer reached his third ODI ton in 86 balls, with 10 fours and three sixes. Gill reached his sixth ODI century in 92 balls with six fours and four sixes.
KL reached his half-century in 35 balls, with three fours and three sixes, including one that went out of the park. Suryakumar’s late fireworks helped India reach 399/5 in their 50 overs, with Suryakumar (72* in 37 balls, with six fours and six sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (13* in 9 balls) unbeaten.
