
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet has approved the tabling of the women’s reservation bill, posted Union Minister Prahlad Patel in X (formerly Twitter). However, after the publication of this report, the Minister deleted the said post from social media.
Several other media houses have reported quoting anonymous government sources that the cabinet has approved the bill.
Though further details of the bill are yet to be public, it is widely speculated that the bill intends to provide 33% reservation for women in the Lok.
On Monday, the special parliament session kick-started with a discussion on India’s ‘parliamentary journey’ spanning 75 years, opened by the prime minister in the Lok Sabha and union minister Piyush Goyal in the Rajya Sabha.
