Times When Mumbai’s Iconic Red Double Decker Bus Was Featured In Bollywood Movies

Now that the Mumbai’s iconic red color double-decker buses have gone off the road, it is actually the end of an era.

These double decker buses have been at the centre of Mumbai’s identity since they were introduced back in 1937. From tourists to Bollywood movies and songs, it is known and loved by all.

Let’s have a look at some of the songs and movies that featured these red beauties:

Ok Jaanu (2017):

Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Ok Jaanu. The duo shot an entire sequence of the film, in one of red double-decker bus.

Taare Zameen Par (2007):

The movie which still is close to everyone’s heart, starred actor Darsheel Safari as Ishaan Awasthi an eight year old boy who had Dyslexia and Aamir Khan as Ram Shankar Nikumbh, the art teacher. In one of the scenes, Ishaan bunked his school, and spent an entire day roaming in and around the city and yes that scene featured the double decker bus too.

Mohra (1994):

A movie from the early 90, starring the fresh talents like Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar also has a one particular scene, in which the two actors can be seen inside the red double-decker bus.

Shaan (1980):

Jaanu Meri Jaan, a song loved by all even today was shot completely inside one of the red double-decker buses of Mumbai. The song is from the movie Shaan, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi and Bindiya Goswami.
