London: Carlos Alcaraz, dethroned Novak Djokovic’s longstanding dominance at the All England Club by securing his first Wimbledon title. In a thrilling final on Sunday, the 20-year-old Spaniard triumphed over the seven-time champion.

Alcaraz’s remarkable achievement makes him the youngest male player to lift the Challenge Cup since Boris Becker’s triumphant win in 1986 at the age of 18.

After an incredible run of 10 years and 45 consecutive matches without a loss on Wimbledon’s iconic Centre Court, Djokovic’s remarkable streak finally came to an end.

In an intense five-set match that lasted nearly five hours, the 20-year-old Alcaraz showcased remarkable talent and unwavering resilience. With sheer determination, he emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle, securing a 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 triumph.

Talking to the on-court presenter after the defeat, Djokovic said, “I lost to a better player. So I have to congratulate him and move on. Nice to see my son, still in the box and still smiling.”

Alcaraz expressed his sincere appreciation to Djokovic, stating, “You inspire me a lot. I began my tennis journey watching you.”
