New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi landed in San Francisco on Tuesday. Congress leader kick-started his visit with an address to the Indian diaspora about his vision.
The Congress leader who will also be visiting Washington DC and New York in the days to come, was received by Sam Pitroda on May 30. Pitroda is currently overlooking the party’s overseas affairs.

In San Francisco, he is scheduled to interact with students at Stanford University. He will also be addressing a press conference and interacting with think tanks & lawyers. As per his schedule, he is also expected to have a brief interaction with the Wall Street executives. Besides, holding interactions with Indian Americans settled in the US is also on his list.
In Washington DC & New York, his schedule includes holding interactions with tech entrepreneurs, civil society, politicians, and business leaders. This will be Rahul Gandhi’s first trip to the US post-completion of his Bharat Jodo Yatra. In order to revive the Congress cadre across the country, Rahul Gandhi undertook a long Padayatra by walking 2500 miles from Kanyakumari at the southern tip of India to Kashmir, the northern tip of India.
The purpose of Gandhi’s visit is said to be: ‘to establish connections, engage in interactions, and initiate a fresh dialogue with NRIs & media.’ Sam Pitroda, Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, said, “The purpose of Rahul Gandhi’s trip to the United States is to establish connections, engage in interactions, and initiate a fresh dialogue with different individuals, institutions, and media. This includes reaching out to the growing Indian Diaspora in the United States and around the world.”
