Ahmedabad: The eagerly awaited IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans that was set for Sunday has been called off due to the intense downpour in Ahmedabad. The final will take place on the reserve day at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Monday (May 29).
In the event that the Reserve Day is also washed out by unfavourable weather conditions and rendered unplayable, the team that achieves a higher position on the points table following the completion of 17 league matches will be crowned the champions.
In that case, Gujarat Titans, who secured the top spot in the league phase, will beat out Chennai Super Kings, and GT will emerge as champions of the IPL 2023.
CSK will be eying to win their fifth IPL trophy tomorrow, whereas GT will be looking to defend their championship and become the third team to win back-to-back IPL trophies.
