New Delhi: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the anticipated rainfall across India during the month of June is expected to be below normal levels.
The IMD also predicts above-average temperatures for the country’s northern regions, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Odisha.
“In June, the rainfall all over India will be below 92 percent, which is below normal. In states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Orissa, and northern India, the temperature is likely to stay above normal; the probability that the temperature will be above normal is 70–80 percent,” said an IMD official while talking to ANI.
IMD said on Friday that the monsoon will arrive in Kerala on June 4 and is expected to stay normal this year.
“We are expecting the monsoon to arrive in Kerala around June 4. Before June 1, we are not expecting the monsoon to arrive. The monsoon is most likely to be normal this year,” said an IMD official.
According to the most recent forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), northwest India is probably going to get less rain than usual this year.
