A video showing multiple leaders at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan posing for a photo and engaging in conversation, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands apart from the group is widely shared on social media, claiming that PM Modi was ignored by other leaders.
The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “Mr Modi at G7 Summit caught candid and lost on camera! Modi was ignored by the G7 Summit leaders but Godi media created hype about how Vishwaguru is being sought after. Modi’s magic seems to have started fading. Lost in Karnataka and now Lost in Hiroshima”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING.
Observing the video closely, we noticed that the stage where the leaders were supposedly posing for a photograph at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima had the inscription ‘G7 HIROSHIMA SUMMIT 2023’ clearly visible.
,
Performing a keyword search, we traced the YouTube channel of ANI carrying the extended version of the viral video, dated May 20, 2023, with a title: “Leaders of G7 and guest countries pose for a family photo”. At the 0:52 timestamp in the video, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida can be seen holding hands and engaging in a conversation as they leave the stage after the group photograph had been taken. This part has been intentionally omitted from the viral video.
Searching the G7 Summit’s official website and reviewing visuals from the same day — May 20 — we discovered that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi entered the stage for the group photo, he was greeted by French President Emmanuel Macron. Similar images capturing Modi’s interaction with Macron were also found on Getty Images.
Thus, it is confirmed that a clipped video is falsely shared to claim that PM Modi was ignored at G7 Summit in Japan.
