Mumbai: Cameron Green hits his maiden century to help the Mumbai Indians win by eight wickets against the SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive.
After winning the toss, MI decided to bowl at Wankhede Stadium. Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal each scored half centuries to help SRH put out a strong target of 201, losing five wickets while batting first. Mayank scored the most runs for the SRH team with 83 runs off 46 balls, while Vivrant scored 69 runs off 47 balls.
SRH, who were going pretty well with their opening combination without losing a wicket until 140 runs, were restricted by Akash Madhwal, the MI bowler, who took four wickets while giving away 37 runs in four overs.
Mumbai won the game while chasing for only two wickets. Cameron Green’s undefeated first century helped his team win the game in the 18th over, while captain Rohit Sharma scored 56 runs as a captain.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mayank Dagar both picked up wickets for their teams, as SRH only managed to take out two wickets.
The win against SRH helped Mumbai keep its playoff hopes alive. RCB, who will play the Gujarat Titans, must prevail in their game to qualify for the playoffs. Mumbai will be eligible for the playoffs if RCB loses the game.
