New Delhi: As Congress wins the Karnataka assembly polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi congratulated the people of Karnataka and called it a victory over “crony capitalism”.
Rahil Gandhi thanked the people of Karnataka and said “In the Karnataka fight, hatred or abuse were not Congress’ weapons. We fought for the issues of the people,” .
He said, “Karnataka mein Nafrat ki bazaar band hui hai, Mohabbat ki dukaan khuli hai”(The market of hatred is closed in Karnataka, the shop of love is open).
He further added that “Poor people defeated crony capitalists in Karnataka. We didn’t fight this battle using hatred.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said “We have won, and now we have to work. I don’t want to criticize anybody.”
Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also came out hard against BJP and said that the people of Karnataka have thrown the party out.
The counting of votes began at 8 am amid tight security across the State.
