FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Considering the popularity of Cristiano Ronaldo, if he received any such gift from Saudi Arabia, it would have made headlines immediately. Yet, we could not find a single credible news source claiming that he, indeed, got a bike made out of 22-carat gold.
Taking a close look at the Saudi flag in the background, we noticed an Instagram handle (faisal_abu_sara) mentioned on the top left corner of the flag. We checked his profile on Instagram and found many photos and videos of a similar bike on his feed.
Checking one of the photos, we found that the number plate of the bike matches exactly with the one in the viral clip. This confirms that the bikes are the same.
Scanning through his posts, we found a comment where a user asked him whether the gold is real or just colour. To which Faisal replied that the parts are coated with real gold. This means that the bike is coated with gold and not made up entirely of it.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Saudi Arabia gifted Ronaldo a bike made up of 22-carat gold, is false.
