Washington: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has deftly handled questions on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit at the invitation of US President Joe Biden.
Announcing the visit, Jean-Pierre said the visit would affirm the deep and close partnership between the United States and India and the warm bonds of family and friendship that link Americans and Indians together. President Biden and Prime Minister Modi will highlight our two countries’ shared commitment to — a free, open, prosperous, and secure Indo-Pacific and our shared resolve to elevate our strategic technology partnership, including defence, clean energy, and space.

That is something the President regularly does. We encourage all countries to uphold their human rights obligations, commitments, and to work towards building inclusive societies.
“As you know, this is a President who has had decades of experience of leader-to-leader relationship. This is an important relationship as we speak about the Indo-Pacific, as we talk about how to move forward in that region. So, the President believes this is an important relationship that we need to continue and build on,” Jean-Pierre adds.
