FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be false.
Closely looking at the video, we noticed a traffic signal board: “JANGAON TRAFFIC POLICE”.
A verified YouTube channel OneIndia News has also carried the same viral video, dated February 10, 2022, with a caption: “Telangana row: TRS and BJP workers clash during anti-Modi protest in the state”.
A similar video had been carried by TV9 Telugu Live, dated February 9, 2022, with the same description.
A news article, published by The Hindu, dated February 9, 2022, also says: “TRS workers were protesting in Jangaon over PM Modi’s speech in the Rajya Sabha that Andhra Pradesh was not divided properly in 2014.”
Thus, it is evident that an old video of the clash between BJP and TRS workers has been falsely linked to the Karnataka Assembly elections.
