We scanned the official Twitter handle of CNN, but could not find any such tweet posted on their timeline. An advanced Twitter search also could not yield any positive results.
Even the website of CNN has not carried any article featuring the supposed quote used in the viral tweet. There was no credible news article corroborating the viral statement.
Searching further, we found that the screenshot was initially posted by meme pages like “9GAG” and “iFunny.”
According to a statement made by a CNN spokesperson to Reuters, the media organisation did not publish any tweet of that nature.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that the viral tweet was not posted by CNN. Therefore, the viral claim is false.
