Well, some have the courage to go beyond and make sacrifices for their dreams despite unbearable hurdles. Yashasvi Jaiswal, a player who marked his arrival in the scene with a sublime maiden century against Mumbai Indians.

The 21-year-old boy from Uttar Pradesh has seen it all. Jaiswal moved to Mumbai without his parents at the age of 11.
In an interview, Yashasvi said that “I used to sleep in a dairy and then stayed at my uncle’s place but it wasn’t big enough and he asked me to find a different place,”.
He further shifted to a tent in Azad Maidan and said that he used to practice there during the day.
Talking about his struggles, he said “I sold pani puri at night, to help earn some money for food,”. The work brought him embarrassment as his teammates saw him doing the job.
The talented young player was spotted by Jwala Singh, a state-level credit coach, who went on to become his legal guardian.
With time, the young boy’s fortune changed as he made it to the Mumbai state team in 2019. He started smashing records and became the youngest batsman to score a domestic one-day double century.
His performance helped him bag a ₹2.4 crore deal as Rajasthan Royals signed him during the 2019 IPL Auctions.
His hard work paid off as he emerged as an impactful player in the 2023 season with a century under his belt.
Talking about the young talent, skipper Rohit Sharma said “He has got real talent. The kind of domestic season he has had, he has taken that form into IPL. Good for him, good for Indian cricket and good for RR as well,”.
