New Delhi: Amid the recent surge in the number of Covid-related cases, India registered 12,591 new cases in the last 24 hours.
The daily count as compared to yesterday’s figure saw a jump of 20% with 2,000 more cases since Wednesday.
According to a Union Health Ministry report, the country’s active caseload currently stands at 65,286 — 0.14% of the total cases.
The daily positivity rate was 5.46% and the weekly positivity rate was 5.32%.
According to the report, four deaths were reported in Chhattisgarh; five in Delhi; two in Himachal Pradesh; three in Karnataka; one each in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Punjab; six in Maharashtra; and two in Rajasthan.
