Navjot Singh Sidhu Walks Out Of Patiala Jail After 10 Months, Says Standing With Gandhis

Chandigarh: Former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu walked out of the Patiala jail after 10 months of imprisonment in 1988 road rage case.

Walking out of the jail with folded hands, Sidhu said that “There is no such thing as democracy right now. Conspiracy to bring President’s Rule in Punjab.”

He said that “Minorities being targeted. If you try to weaken Punjab, you will become weak.” He further added that “I stand like a wall with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and every Congress worker.”

Congress leader and former MLA Navtej Singh Cheema said that “People of Punjab are waiting for Sidhu.”

Sidhu was handed a year sentence in connection with a 1988 road rage case and was due to be released in the month of May. However, Sidhu was released early on account of ‘good behaviour’.
