Mumbai: After scripting history at The 95th Academy Awards for winning the Best Documentary Short Film category, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ director Kartiki Gonsalves met Bomman and Bellie.
The 41-minute documentary narrates the tale of an orphaned elephant calf, Raghu, put in the care of mahouts, Bomman and Bellie.
The director shared a picture of the couple with the Oscars and added “It’s been a long four months since we’ve been apart and now I feel like I’m home…”

‘The Elephant Whisperers’ was nominated against ‘Haul Out,’ ‘How Do You Measure A Year?’ ‘The Martha Mitchell Effect,’ and ‘Stranger At The Gate’.
This is the second Oscar for Guneet . Her first Oscar was in 2019 for the documentary short film, Iranian American filmmaker Rayka Zehtabch’s ‘Period: End of Sentence’.
