New Delhi: After putting a hold on the Delhi budget for a day, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday reportedly approved the government’s budget.
According to sources close to newswire ANI, Delhi Annual Budget 2023-24 has been approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Approval has been conveyed to the Delhi Government.
Earlier on Monday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to resubmit the budget after “addressing the concerns for taking further action”.
Arvind Kejriwal earlier on Tuesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to give clearance to the budget.
In the letter, Kejriwal added that “It is the first time in the country’s 75-year history that a state budget has been stopped. Why are you upset with the people of Delhi?”
