FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, we found a YouTube video on an unverified channel, dated May 19, 2018 and titled: Dr Nashenas Best Performance in Australia (Must Watch) – Aye katibe taqdeer.

The keyframes of the YouTube video match with the viral video and the title indicates that the singer’s name in the video is Dr Nashenas, the same name we see at the beginning of the viral clip.

Going through the biography of Dr Nashenas, famous singer and musician from Afghanistan, it was found that he has produced more than 270 Farsi songs, over 100 Pashtu and more than 60 songs in Urdu.

The official YouTube account of the singer accommodates a video that matches exactly with the viral clip, which proves that the singer in the video is Dr Nashenas. We could not find any credible news source claiming that Nashenas is a Australian.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video claiming an Australian singer sang a song by KL Saigal is false.
