New Delhi: Delhi has recently been enjoying pleasant weather with bouts of rain before the summer heatwave kicks in. More rain is on the cards for Delhi on Monday as per the prediction by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Sunday, rain and hailstorm lashed parts of Delhi-NCR, which brought some respite from the warm weather.
The weather department issued an orange alert for Delhi on Monday as the capital city is likely to witness rainfall throughout the day.
Authorities are advised by an orange alert to be ready for any emergency situation that may develop as a result of weather changes. A yellow alert, on the other hand, warns that the weather may change and that people should exercise caution.
IMD has forecast moderate rain, thunderstorms, and hail in isolated places on Monday. Gusty winds up to 30-40 kilometres per hour are also expected. The temperature is expected to be between 26 and 16 degrees Celsius.
IMD officials said the rain and overcast conditions were because of back-to-back western disturbances.
