Mumbai: KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja’s crucial knocks helped India register a five-wicket win against Australia on Friday in the ongoing three-match ODI series.
Indian bowlers managed to restrict Australia to a low score of 188 in the first innings. Mohammed Shami remained the impactful bowler of the attack as he secured crucial wickets at regular intervals.
Australia managed to fight back with the bowl as in-form bowler Mitchell Starc picked early wickets. Starc dismissed the top order of the hosts including Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav.
However, KL Rahul took charge of the innings and built crucial middle-order partnerships with Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja.
KL Rahul returned unbeaten at 75 runs while Ravindra Jadeja remained not out at 45 runs.
With this, India takes lead in the series by 1-0 as both the teams will play the next match on 19th March in Visakhapatnam.
