US Releases Footage Of Russian Jet Dumping Fuel Over Drone, Calls It ‘Reckless’

Washington: In a declassified video released by the United States European Command, an armed Russian Su-27 jet conducted “an unsafe and unprofessional intercept” of a US Air Force MQ-9 over the Black Sea on March 14.

United States European Command took to Twitter and added “Two Russian Su-27s conducted an unsafe & unprofessional intercept w/a US Air Force intelligence, surveillance & reconnaissance unmanned MQ-9 operating w/i international airspace over the Black Sea March 14.”

In the minute-long video shared by US European Command, a Russian Jet is seen approaching the back of the drone. The jet later releases fuel as it passes over the drone. The video further shows a damaged propeller after the jet passes over for the second time.

According to reports, US Military claimed that the Russian Jet collided with the American drone to crash terming the move as “reckless”.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price called it a “brazen violation of international law.”

The U.S. European Command in a statement added that “This incident demonstrates a lack of competence in addition to being unsafe and unprofessional”.
