Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday congratulated the team members of film ‘RRR’ after ‘Naatu-Naatu’, the popular hit song made history by becoming the first-ever song from an Indian production to win at the 95th Academy Awards.
Not only ‘RRR’, but Tamil documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ also created history as it became the first Indian production to win the Documentary Short Subject title at the prestigious awards show.
In two separate tweets, PM Modi congratulated India’s twin Oscars win as other than ‘Naatu Naatu’, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ also bagged the ‘best documentary’ honour.

PM Modi congratulated the entire team of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also hailed the win as he tweeted, “It is a proud moment for the Indian film industry as well as for the entire nation. Congratulations to the entire team of RRR film for winning the Oscar Award for your wonderful song.”

Business tycoon Anand Mahindra also joined PM Modi to lead congratulations for ‘Naatu Naatu’ and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’.
Mahindra said that the Academy Awards have not only recognised the musicals that come out of Indian cinema, but a hard-hitting reality too. “And an Oscar to this brilliant film.
