Amid reports of an attack on Bihar migrants in Tamil Nadu, a video showing a gruesome murder is widely shared on social media linking it to the attack.
The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “आखिर बिहारी का ही शोषण क्यों? कई राज्यों के बाद अब तमिलनाडु में भी बिहारी मजदूरों को मारा-काटा जा रहा है, पूछा जाता है कि हिंदीभाषी हो और हां कहते ही मौत के घाट उतार दिया जाता है। हमलोग किस भारत की सपना देख रहे हैं। वहां के लोगों का कहना “बिहारी भागों” हमें काम चाहिए। बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री जी से आग्रह हैं कि बिहारी लोगों को तत्काल रिहा कराएं।” (English translation: Why the exploitation of Bihari only? Performing a Reverse Image Search, we identified the official Twitter handle of Rajasthan Police. In a reply to the viral video tweeted by BJP leader Khushboo Sundar, stating that this video is about the murder of lawyer Jugraj Chauhan in broad daylight in Jodhpur, Rajasthan Police had asked the Commissioner of Jodhpur Police to inform about the action taken in the matter and the current status.
In response to this from the Twitter account of Jodhpur East DCP, it was said that this case is under Mata Ka Than police station of Jodhpur and the accused has been arrested in this family land dispute case.

Another news article by Dainik Bhaskar had carried glimpses of the viral video. According to the report, Jugraj Chauhan, a resident of Jodhpur’s Mandir Wala Mohalla, was murdered by his acquaintances Anil and Mukesh in the past by attacking them with knives and stones. In fact, a dispute was going on between the accused and advocate Jugraj Chauhan regarding land. The court had handed over that land to Jugraj, due to which the accused were very unhappy. Even on the day of the murder, the police had called both parties. The same evening, the accused attacked Jugraj in front of the Bhadwasiya Hospital.
The same incident had been reported by News 18 and AAJ Tak, stating that the incident happened in Jodhpur.
Thus, is evident from the above information that an unrelated video is falsely shared as an alleged attack on Bihar migrants in Tamil Nadu.
