A video is widely shared on social media claiming that after the Chinese spy balloon, a formation showing perfectly rectangular clouds is now spotted in the sky.
The video is shared on Facebook with a caption: “Chinese Spy Balloons and now square clouds”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING.
A news report by Daily Mail UK, dated March 22, 2018, carries the same viral video. The article reads: “A MYSTERIOUS square-shaped cloud has sent conspiracy theorists into a frenzy, claiming that the US Air Force (USAF) is controlling the weather.” This means that the viral video is not recent.
During that time, rumours regarding the controversial High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Programme (HAARP) programme surfaced in connection with this meteorological occurrence. On the other hand, meteorologists hypothesised that these clouds may have been created by water vapour that emerged from an aeroplane’s engine.
Strangely, this wasn’t the only square cloud that observers saw. Another story during the same period had carried multiple images of square clouds, sometimes known as “flying carpets,” that were seen in several locations across the US and the UK.
NASA astronaut G Reid Wiseman tweeted an image of rectangular clouds in Kamchatka, eastern Russia, that he claimed to have taken from the International Space Station in 2014.

Moreover, we could not find any recent media corroborating the viral claim. Had such an incident happened recently, mainstream media would have definitely covered it.
Thus, it is now crystal clear that an old video is falsely shared as a weird cloud formation after the Chinese balloon incident.
