I-T officials left the Mumbai and the Delhi offices after the marathon survey, during the three-day survey, the officials reportedly prepared an inventory of financial data from some staff and collected paper and digital data.
The survey was done in view of the BBC’s deliberate non-compliance with the Transfer Pricing Rules and its vast diversion of profits, newswire ANI quoted sources.
United Kingdom Government sources to ANI said “We are closely monitoring reports of tax surveys conducted at the offices of the BBC in India.”
The survey operations at the BBC offices come amid the controversy over its documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the 2002 Gujarat riots.
