New Delhi: Indian bowlers continue to dominate as Australian innings conclude at 264 runs on the first day of the second test in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series.
The hosts continued to dominate after bowling out the Aussies on the first day of the match. Usman Khwaja played a balanced inning to hold the batting lineup and scored 81 runs.
The duo of Khawaja and Peter Handscomb kept piling runs while stealing singles to keep the scoreboard running. Handscomb remained not out at 72 runs.
The Indian bowling unit continued to be a tough opponent for Aussies as Jadeja, and Ashwin managed to pick three wickets. Mohammed Shami secured four wickets in his spell.
India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Friday became the second fastest player and fastest Indian to bring 250 wickets, 2500 Test runs milestone.
Jadeja achieved this feat in the 46th over of Australia’s innings during the second Test match when KL Rahul took a one-handed stunner to remove batter Usman Khawaja to bag his 250th Test wicket.
Jadeja was able to reach the milestone in his 62nd Test match – three matches ahead of India legend Kapil Dev who did it in 65 games.
