New Delhi: India claimed the top spot in the ICC Test ranking, making it the No. 1 ranked team across all formats of the game.
India bagged the top spot in Test cricket after defeating Australia in the first test match in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series.
Skipper Rohit Sharma becomes the first captain to achieve this remarkable feat of being on the top spot in all three formats, i.e. ODIs, T20s, and Test.
India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on the brink of returning to the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowler Rankings, while Ravindra Jadeja also jumped higher after their joint demolition of Australia.
Ashwin climbed to the second spot in the Test bowler rankings, 21 rating points behind Australia captain Pat Cummins and a return to the No. 1 ranking for the first time since 2017.
However, India will be looking to seize the ongoing test series against Australia to secure the top spot and make it to the finals of the World Test Championship in June in England.
India topped the ODI ranking last month after defeating New Zealand 3-0 in the series.
