Nagpur: Indian batter Shreyas Iyer who was ruled out of the first test game in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series due to a lower back injury is reportedly still at the National Cricket Academy for rehabilitation and is likely to miss out on the second test.
According to reports, Shreyas Iyer is focusing on a strength and conditioning routine. While Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah who was out of the international side due to a stress fracture, will not be rushed to play ODI games against Australia which is scheduled to start right after the Test series.
According to a PTI report, Bumrah will be needed for the potential World Test Championship final at the Oval in London from June 7-11 and also for the big ODI World Cup in India at the end of the year.
India is currently leading by 1-0 against Australia in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Series. The next test game is scheduled in the national capital, starting from 17th February.
