New Delhi: Amid the ongoing row over alleged allegations levelled against the Adani group by the Hindenburg report, the centre on Monday has agreed to set up a committee by the Supreme Court for strengthening the regulatory regime.
According to reports, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that the government has no objection to appointing a committee to suggest how to ensure investors are protected in the future and that SEBI is competent to deal with the situation.
The report further added that the Supreme Court has asked the central government to submit a note on the proposed terms of reference by Wednesday. The apex court will hear the matter on Friday.
