Performing a Reverse Image Search, we found a YouTube channel carrying the same viral video, dated March 14, 2017, with a caption: “On Sunday 12 March 2017, Durban North Beach was shut down due to massive waves that hit the beach. The SUN Newspapers also carried the same viral video on March 12, 2017, with a caption: “Durban beach closed due to high waves DRAMATIC AERIAL VIDEO.” The same video was also published on March 13, 2017, with another caption: “Mini Tsunami hits Durban South in South Africa.”
Many news articles had also reported the same incident in 2017.
