London: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reached Britain on Wednesday for the first-time post Russia’s invasion.
UK Speaker Lindsay Hoyle welcomed Zelenskyy to the UK House of Parliament and said that Britain will continue to extend its support to Ukraine amid the state of war.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as quoted by CNN, thanked the UK for the support and added, “I have come here and stand before you on behalf of the brave, on behalf of our warriors,”.
During his address, President Zelenskyy claimed that Russia will lose the war and added that “we know freedom will win.”
He added, ” We know that victory will change the world. And this will be a change that the world has long needed. The United Kingdom is marching with us toward, I think, the most important victory of our lifetime.”
He also demanded that Russia should face consequences for its invasion of Ukraine. The United Kingdom was the first country to supply 14 Challenger tanks to Ukraine. Zelenskyy extended his gratitude for supplying tanks and training their soldiers on them.
The report further added that the UK has announced that they will start training Ukrainian pilots on NATO-standard fighter jets.
