Gurgaon: A Gurgaon-based couple were booked on Tuesday for allegedly torturing and assaulting a 14-year-old domestic help that they had hired.
The minor was rescued on Tuesday and admitted to a hospital for treatment, The police said.
Police also said that due to the continuous torture and assault that the girl allegedly endured, she has suffered several injuries.
the couple work private jobs and had hired the 14-year-old from a placement agency around four-five months ago to take care of their three-year-old child. The couple tortured her for not completing work, did not give her food for days, assaulted her with hot tongs and batons and cut her with sharp instruments. Police said she was allegedly sexually harassed by the accused for months.
The photographs shared by activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj show the girl with bruises and burn injuries on her forehead, lips, cheeks and arms.
