FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the video, and found it to be old.

Running the keyframes of the clip through Reverse Image search, we spotted a 2018 report by CNN carrying the same video. According to the video reports, the visuals are from the coastal city of Palu in Indonesia that had been hit by tsunami after a strong earthquake.

The same video was also featured in reports by BBC and The Independent in September 2018. According to the report, a 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit the island, east of Borneo, on Friday [September 28, 2018], after a low-magnitude tremor which killed one person and injured 10 others in the area.

Hence, it is clear that the video was taken in 2018 in Indonesia, and not related to the recent earthquake in Turkey.
