Jammu: A few structures in the Doda district of Jammu And Kashmir started developing cracks, a total of 23 buildings have been evacuated on Friday, according to Athar Amin Zargar, SDM Doda.
The area is gradually sinking. The government is trying to find a solution as soon as possible, said Zargar.
“The situation was aggravated last night. We received panic calls at midnight. Ten more houses subsided, and a total of 21 houses, one Masjid, and a Madrassa have been evacuated. The area is under red alert,” added Zargar while speaking to newswire ANI.
He also said, “a report was sent to the Geological Survey of India; they will be arriving for further investigation. Most residents were from nearby villages. Temporary makeshift houses with basic amenities provided to affected residents.
According to SDM Zargar, a report was sent to Geological Survey of India for further investigations and evacuated residents have been made arrangements for temporary makeshift houses with basic amenities.
