A man in Singapore has sued a woman for 3 million Singaporean dollars for causing him “trauma and depression” after she rejected a romantic relationship with him, according to Singapore-based newspaper The Straits Times.
The man, Kawshigan, filed his lawsuit against Nora Tan after she told him she wasn’t interested in a romantic relationship with him.
The two first met in 2016 and became friends over time. However, Kawshigan developed feelings of love but Tan always saw the relationship as a friendship, according to a report by Strait Times.
In September 2020, the problem started after Tan told Kawshigan that she considers him a friend while the man believed she was his “closest friend”.
Kawshigan wanted to sue her for emotional trauma but decided to put off taking legal action after Tan agreed to attend counselling sessions with him.
However, the woman later pulled out from the counselling session. After Tan cut him off completely, Kawshigan filed a $3 million legal case against her.
