Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that he spoke to Shah Rukh Khan regarding the protests against his upcoming film ‘Pathaan’.
A day after his ‘who is Shah Rukh Khan’ remark, Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter and informed that the actor called him at 2 am.
“Bollywood actor Shri @iamsrk called me and we talked today morning at 2 am. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during screening of his film. I assured him that it’s the duty of state govt to maintain law and order. We’ll enquire and ensure no such untoward incidents,” he tweeted.

According to a report in NDTV, Bajrang Dal activists entered a theatre at Narengi in the city on Friday where Pathaan is slated to be screened. They tore down its posters and burnt them.
On Saturday, while addressing the media in connection with the protest, the CM said, “Who is Shah Rukh Khan? I don’t know anything about him or his film Pathaan.”
Srk’s upcoming mega movie ‘Pathaan’ is slated to release on January 25 across the country. The film star cast includes Deepika Padukone, John Abraham along with Shah Rukh Khan in prominent roles.
